Go deep with Evenheat's KF Extreme Series Ovens. Evenheats KF Extreme models are available in depths from 31.5" all the way up to 49.5". They feature dual doors and share the side-element-only design of the LB Series for phenomenal temperature distribution.

Users include sword makers, volume knife and heat treaters, Damascus steel makers and anyone needing lots of real estate.

The KF Extreme's are available in a variety of control choice options as well as our Quiet Drive Solid State relays, which you want.

We offer the KF Extreme models in 5 depths: 31.5", 36", 40.5, 45" and 49.5".

Please see the Specifications section below for details.

Features

Chamber Depths from 31.5" to 49.5"

The KF Extreme Series are designed for long work such as Damascus steel production, firearm parts and of course swords and beyond.
Chamber depths start at 31.5" and go all the way to 49.5" in 4.5" increments.

Side-Only Heating Elements

KF Extreme models are designed with side-only heating elements. This is the same design that is used in our LB Series that provides excellent temperature distribution along the entire length of the chamber.

Dual Side Opening Doors

The extra deep chambers of the KF Extreme's require the use of dual doors, front and back.

Cool Touch Handles

The handles/latches on our swing out doors are conveniently located at the front of the door, not hidden along the side. These spring loaded, phenolic handles are cool to the touch, one-handed in design and serve as the door latches as well.

Power Interrupt Switch (CE Standard Models)

The Power Interrupt Switch removes power from all heating elements as the door is opened and re-applies power as the door is closed.

The switch used for this feature is a true safety switch and is designed specifically for safety applications. This safety switch will literally tear apart and open any welded or stuck contacts - true safety!

Relay Access Port

All KF Extreme models incorporate our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.

Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!

It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do....or order with Solid State Relays and sit back and relax.

Door Shields

The KF Extreme's feature door shields to provide protection against firebrick damage as well as to reduce the temperature seen at the doors and door handles.

Swing View Equipped

Our Rampmaster temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.
The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your shop. It's that simple.

Firebrick Construction

Like all our heat treat ovens, KF Extreme models are built completely of firebrick.
Firebrick has the desired characteristic of storing heat and then releasing it slowly and gently during the soak/hold portion of the process. It's this particular quality that serves the heat treat process so well.

Loud Alarm Output Jack

A Loud Alarm output jack is included to connect the optional Loud Alarm. Enjoy 80db of irritating alarm bliss and never miss another quench.

2200°F Maximum Temperature

The maximum usable temperature for the KF Extreme models is 2200°F (1204°C). This maximum is well within the range for the vast majority of steels used by knife makers and machine shops.
This maximum temperature is limited by the heating element wire used. We use a Sandvik Nickel-Chrome alloy wire for all KF Extreme model heating elements. This alloy has proven to last, it tends to stay put and generally plays very nice when used at temps below 2200°F.

Maintenance Parts Tag

To assist you in replacing worn items we have included a maintenance parts tag indicating the proper Evenheat part numbers for anticipated maintenance items.

Strong Stand and Tool Rests

Stands are strong and include a tool rest at each end. Cool!

Build Options

Rampmaster Controls

KF Extreme models are available with Rampmaster temperature controllers.

Rampmaster 3
The Rampmaster 3 is the traditional full featured control and features a 4 digit display. It contains 12 program slots to store your favourite heat treat programs. To recall them just select your User number and you're ready to go.
Other features include a numbered keypad, program review key and the ability to work with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System.
It offers two programming methods depending on your needs and experience:

  • Custom Mode and Express Mode.
  • Custom Mode is a programming method that allows you to define all aspects of the firing from temperature rates to set points and hold times. This programming style is perfect for heat treating and custom glass firing programs. Custom Mode offers full artistic control.
  • Express Mode is a programming method designed exclusively for glass work and offers an easy, 3 step programming process. Simply key in your glass COE, firing style and firing speed to create the firing program. It's quick, it's easy and it's accurate.

Control Relay

There are 2 Control Relay options available - Solid State and Mechanical.

Solid State

Known as the "Quiet Drive Solid State Relay", the Solid State reacts more quickly than mechanical relays which translates to even more precise temperature control. Solid state does so without the constant "clicking" and eventual failure of a mechanical relay. We fully expect our solid state relay to last the life of the unit.

Mechanical

Mechanical Relays have been a steadfast component contributing to Evenheats great reputation for performance. They usually last approximately 10 years in heat treatment applications.

Blade Fixtures - OPTIONAL ACCESSORY

Our blade fixtures were designed specifically to hold your blades vertically and securely. They're well designed and provide ample space for foil inflation while being absolutely stable.

Our MK 2 Blade Fixture is the larger of the two and is designed for use with our LB and KF line of Knife Ovens. The MK 2 Will not fit in KH models without modification.
